Review of Beside Bethesda by Joni Eareckson Tada

Beside Bethesda by Joni Eareckson Tada

This book is wonderful!  It was nourishment to my spiritual soul!  I could simply not put this book down.  Although the book is designed as a 31 day devotional series I found myself reading at times between 5 and 10 sets a day.  The devotionals were short and to the point and tied directly back to the Bible which was wonderful.  I enjoyed reading the journey of the authors struggle with being a quadriplegic and her being distressed very frustrated at times with the situation of her physical body.  It was a book filled with hope for in which anyone can relate when dealing with the stresses of life no matter what their physical situation.  Overcoming obstacles of the mind and body to be at peace with the place in which the Lord has brought you.  It is hard for me to sum up what exactly was my favorite part of this book because it was so rich and filled with such wonderful inspirational messages.  After the first few pages I ran to the drawer to grab a highlighter so that I could highlight the parts of this book that were the most profound to me....I had never done that with any book before.  This is definitely a book that I will keep for my own personal collection because I know that it will be a great reference in the future for strength and hope during trials of my life.   Thank you to Tyndale Publishing for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review.
